heart of compassion malas

I make authentic Buddhist malas, using semi-precious stones and special woods and seeds. Malas are strings of prayer beads used with a mantra, held, or worn gently as a way of praying, focusing, and staying mindful. Traditionally malas are used by Buddhists, Yogis, and Hindus. But these days more and more people from all lifestyles enjoy them.

“Today as I sat listening to my morning sermon of Happiness through tough times, many things ran through my mind of how thankful I am and really happy to be blessed by my kids, friends, health and the simple and good things in my life.  As I looked down  after meditation, I observed a rolly polie traveling across the bricks.  As I watched it scampering along I remembered as a little girl picking them up and holding them in my hand as they would curl up into a ball then slowly reopen in my palm and start to tickle it with their tiny feet.  The memory brought a big smile to my face and I wished that everyone could enjoy that feeling.  It is sad that so many  of us get lost and forget those little things of happiness and simplicity that are little gifts we receive from just being in a moment  with the universe.”
