Happiness is a Warm Turtle-for Penny Lane
At least if you’re a four-month-old border collie. Who knew? I saw the turtle twin pack at the pet store. She loves the Tasmanian Devil (copywrite mark goes here) stuffie, so I thought another would be in order. She’s been such a good girl—sleeping at night sometimes and getting new teeth to replace the ones she gnawed to the gumline on rocks and bark. And she’s learned so many clever things— “leave it”, “sit”, “stay” (about one-fourth of the time), “come” (okay, that’s pushing it)…and how not to attack.
Me, I’m apparently the leader of this wolf pack. Again, who knew? I’m basically a calm, loving person. I have to be somewhat fierce with this puppy. That’s fierce like on the runway, not like spanking-fierce or yelling.
So when we say “where’s your turtle?” when she’s chewing on the vintage Herman Miller chair, sometimes she goes and gets it.
The brick-colored thing on the grass beside Penny Lane is a terra cotta pedestal foot for a pot. She thinks it’s a teething toy. Have mercy on her new teeth! I do swoop them away from her.
Disclaimer—the border collie does not make any of the malas. She just keeps me laughing while I make them.
Order a mala. Help pay this animal’s vet bills.
Peace, love, and joy to you. May your day be full of laughter and may CNN not be on all the time in your home. CNN can keep you up at night and worried during the day. Worry is the mind killer. Laughter helps us live longer!
